Gracias!

English Comment:

Hello to all!! Here is the second pillar of prosperity according to James Allen, and his book of the same name.

This pillar is not only focused on the financial part of the economy, which we usually tend to relate to the word economy.

Economy is mostly about all the resources, so we need to pay close attention to all of them.

Mr Allen says there are 4 elements of the economy that we need to master, and that is attained by:

Moderation: We need to avoid the extremes, neither being cheap and cut on the resources necessary, nor go crazy and spend beyond what is necessary..

Efficiency: How do we use our resources, and not only the outside resources, such as time, money, human resources, but also our energy... If we spend a lot of time angry and complaining, that is energy wasted in things that are not helping us move forward to our goal. So if it doesn't help our cause... stop doing it!

Resourcefulness: This is referred to our ability to come up with solutions, quickly and efficiently, forget about spend a lot of time figuring out a way, think fast!! and put it into action, if you miss it will not be because of inaction, and you would have learned something!

Originality: Come up with new ways of doing things, forget the paradigms, we might be able to solve problems easily and cheaper, but that only happens when we are creative and come up with original solutions...

Well there you have it!

I think we have a lot of homework to do!!

Until the third pillar! Integrity!

Have a nice weekend!

Who wants to live in Pandora?

Hello to all, I hope you had a wonderful weekend and a productive Monday!

Last night I was finally able to go watch the movie AVATAR...Wow I was really impressed, not by the special effects and animation which were great, but of the great messages provided by the na'vi.

In the movie they portray the human race as the most inhuman of all, but in reality many things similar are happening today in our world.

Nevertheless, it also gives us hope because not all humans were blind about the disaster that was happening.

What a wonderful message the na'vi had to be able to literally connect with their land, their nature. I think we have many things to think about the way we see our nature Is it simply the place where we are, or do we see it as a mother that gives us everything?

I don't want to talk much about the movie just in case some of you have not seen it, that would be a terrible thing for me to do! But I do want to invite you, if you already seen it, to become a na'vi on Earth, and if you have not seen it GO WATCH IT! There are many beautiful messages in the movie, go with your heart open and willing to be touched by the movie.

Since this Blog is about growth and prosperity, in this case I think that in order for us to have sustainable prosperity, we need to take care of this awesome planet, lets start by not dropping that little piece of paper on the floor, not leaving the can of beer on the beach, and many little things that will make a difference...

Lets open our ears to hear the beautiful messages our Earth is giving us every single second, enjoy the sounds of the ocean, the wind, the rain, the singing of the birds, the tireless work of insects, the different scents...

If you think about it, we are bombarded by messages from our Planet, lets unclog our senses, and that will open our hearts...

My best wishes to all for you!

When you try new things you will inevitably learn some thing new

Hello to all, I hope you had a wonderful weekend... Today I want to share with you the story of my last two weeks and the blog... It has been interesting (At least for me!)

Ok, on my trip to New York, I went to the library and bought a new book, that was suggested by a mentor of mine Eric Worre, its called Crush It! From gary Vaynerchuk (Highly Recommended).

The book is about Social Media and many more things that I will be sharing in future posts, but today's story is not about the book, but rather about what the book inspired me to do and the results...

I have been looking into ways to make this interaction more interesting, and came up with the idea of making the blog a Video-blog. Today there are many tools to help you do that in a simpler way, so I said... "That's it! I am going to tape videos and post them. This way I can better interact with my readers"

I bought a FLIP cam, which is precisely for this type of things, and you can easily download the videos from the camera directly to internet.

Well, I thought I bought the right tool for the job, and I did, what I did not have was the skills to use it.

So I do my video, I download it to the computer, and then I start uploading to the internet...

It was a 4 minute video, and it was going to take 9hrs to load!!!! Obviously I was doing something wrong... And when you want to do something you look for ways to figure it out, and this is where the learning process begins!!

I now know about format, codecs, video converters, the ideal file size to work in internet, and many more things... This has taken me a couple of weeks to figure out, but I now have more skills and more tools with which to work and share my ideas.

The message here is to go out and try... Try something new, something you like and if you are not good at it... study it, practice it, and sooner than you think you could be helping others to do what you did...

This learning is what has been keeping me from writing, but I could not wait any longer, hopefully in the coming days you will see the first video!!

Until next time!

A Marathon's Tale

Hello to all, it has been a few days since I last posted, but I have a very good reason for it!

I was invited by my Dad to attend the 40th running of the NYC marathon, and this was a very special one, not because it was the 40th, but because I had my sister and her husband running, and this is the story I wanted to share with you today.

We have written in the past about the power of a decision and the power of dreams, and this story is no different...

My sister and her husband (From now on referred as The Runners) made a decision about 6 months ago to run the Marathon, and they always had in mind, of course, finishing it.

They worked hard, they ran 4 to 5 times a week, they woke up before 5am in the morning, and then they started their usual day, of going to work... Definitely a proof of discipline to stay on this regime for such a long time... But here is the catch...They had a dream on which they acted upon.

After months of preparation, finally the day of the running came. A Marathon is a 26 mile (42 Km) race, but in their training, the farthest they went, was 22 miles (35Km).

The race started and of course we tried to be at different points to cheer them on, The Runners both did different times, but they both finished.

After the 18th mile, their bodies said "This is it, I can't go any further", and the mind said "I prepared myself for this, I know I can go all the way"... Guess who won?

Our mind is our greatest asset, we just need to strengthen it to withstand whatever obstacle is thrown at it.

After they finished, after the tears of joy and of pride, they both told us that they finished in spite of their bodies, they hung on to things greater than themselves, they hung on to their dreams... Finishing the NYC Marathon. There was no other possible outcome.

The Runners offered one mile for family, one mile for friends, one mile for those who already passed away, and a mile at a time, they completed the course.

I want to pay tribute to those who dare, to those who made the impossible possible just by the strength of their desire, the laser focus and by overcoming every possible excuse to stop, to quit, to give in.

To my sister and her husband, to the runners, and to all the runners of the Marathon... I bow, I thank you, I recognize you, you inspired me and many more.

Our dreams are our marathon in life, my invitation is to make the commitment to finish it, don't let the pain stop you, don't let the exhaustion keep you from that precious moment of crossing the finish line, raise your arms to the sky and say "Mission Accomplished".

Lore and Osmar, I love you guys!!! and to the Voice "Looking good!!!" "Good job runners!!". I thank you....

Until next time!

The inspiring phrases series - Part 4

Hello everybody, today, I am going to share with you a phrase, that pretty much summarizes what I have been trying to write about in the blog.

This one comes from Zig Ziglar..

"If you can dream it, then you can achieve it. You will get all you want in life if you help enough other people get what they want"

This phrase pretty much says it all...

First, it talks about the importance of dreams, and how we must see them, feel them and enjoy them even before the actually manifest.

Second: It mentions how abundance is the norm in nature, lack only resides in the mind of men.

Third: Service is the way, or better service is the only way. If we want to achieve all of our dreams, the only way there is through service, the more people we service the greater the rewards... Try to service as many people as you want, and serve them well...Riches, Wealth, Health and Happiness always tag along those who service the most.

I hope you enjoy this one, it really is profound, simple and key!

Until next time!

The inspiring phrases series - Part 3

Hello to all! I wanted to tell you that looking for great quotes has turned out to be an awesome task! You will be amazed at how much wisdom is out there waiting for you to look after it!

Here is one phrase that I think will make you think hard and wonder. It comes from Mark Twain.

"I am an old man and have known a great many troubles, but most of them never happened"

How about this one!!! The first time I saw it a few months back, it totally changed the way I saw difficulty.

We tend to imagine the worst possible scenarios, we make things tougher on ourselves and many times we even convince ourselves not to try it, because of the many things that might happen.

Well my job today is to remind you, that most of the things that trouble us, and stress us, will never happen.

Don't let your mind run your life, let it know you are in charge. Your mind is your greatest player, but it is your job as a coach to tell it HOW to play.

Hope you give this one some thought... heck! a lot of thought!

Have a wonderful day!

Until next time!

The inspiring phrases series - Part 2

Hello to all! I hope you are enjoying this series!

Continuing with the inspiring phrases, here is one that I recently heard in one of Jim Rohn's Audio programs called "The challenge to succeed"

Here it is:

"The formula for disaster: Could, Should, Won't"

WOW!!! So simple, yet it slaps you in the face!

Think about it, most of the problems and failures in life come from INACTION.
We know what need to do, and yet we don't.

Apply this to your life, and you will quickly see where you need to step it up a notch, and act.

For instance... I could walk 30 minutes everyday, I should walk 30 minutes everyday and yet I won't.... Guess where your health in going?

I could read a book to help me in whatever field I am now, I should read that book, and I don't... Guess where your skills and progress is going?

I could start working to secure my future, I certainly should and .... Are you?

Think about it, it starts with the simplest of things, and that is how we create a habit of making the little things happen, then bigger things and then great things... but start with the small ones.

I will now get to work to find the next phrase!

You could have a great weekend, you should have a great week... will you?

I hope you do!

Until next time!

The inspiring phrases series - Part 1

Hello to all! In previous posts I have mentioned the impact books can have in your life, and have told you to read as many books as you can to feed your brain with as many of the great messages and philosophies of those that came before us.

What I will do in the following weeks is to bring forward a classic quote from the great thinkers of the past, so we can enjoy them and hopefully (If I am lucky to get your comment) discuss them.

Today I will begin with a quote from Winston Churchill:

"Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm"

What a wonderful way to say "Don't quit", and also to acknowledge that success only happens to those who continually go for the things they want.

Enthusiasm is simply the desire to achieve whatever dream you may have. How much do you really want it, is the size of your desire. When desire is intense enough, we get rid of the obstacles and focus on the way.

Success is a marathon, not a sprint race, and many people today are running as hard as they can in different directions hoping that eventually they end up running in the right direction. While those who succeed, run, go to the gym, train harder, run again, and continually keep improving their times.

So where are you? Signing up for the next run, or maybe you are working hard at the weights and cardio?

I think this series is going to be great!

Until next time!

Kind and Memorable

Hello to all, this past weekend I was at my cousin's wedding, and during the sermon, there was a phrase from the priest, that I found great for this blog.

He said "Kind while alive, memorable when dead"

I believe that we can take a lot of good from this phrase...

Live everyday with joy, be kind, smile, say hello!, say Goodbye!, thank you! and most importantly, feel it.

Words are things we hear, but the way we say them makes people feel them.

Feelings and emotions are much more powerful than just words.

Go through the day trying to make most people happy, not at the expense of your own, but rather because you want to share your joy with them.

If we live like this everyday, I can guarantee you, that when we pass away, people will remember you for the many little things that made a difference in their life.

Do you know how I call people who are remembered with joy? Memorable.

Have a wonderful day.

Until next time.

Become the Star of your own life

Hello to all!

The question is simple: Are you in the movie or you are just watching it?

I have seen that many people cannot believe all the things that "happen to them"

People who believe that things just happen and they cannot do a thing to change that, are simply being a victim of their own life, they are watching the movie, they are sitting in the audience, waiting to see what happens.

If being in the audience has brought you sadness, failure and economic distress, then Why don't you get up and become the Star of your own life? Why don't you become the hero of your movie and make things happen for you?

If you want to have a happily-ever-after end to your movie, then you better start doing something about it.

I would love to see more people take charge and make such a great impact on their own life that they become nominated to the Oscar's of life, because you ACTED.

Have a wonderful day!

Until next time!

And we're Back!

Hello to all! I hope you enjoyed your vacations from Growthsperity, well actually I hope you didn't! :)

I have been out on vacation, but a vacation from which I come with great learnings, and I will be sharing those stories in the next few days... I am going to post more often this couple of weeks to make up for the lost posts...

I wanted to say to you, that I missed you... not being able to write, was certainly not good! Once you start doing something you love, and then for circumstances you are pulled away for a little time, doesn't feel good...

So today's message is this, stick to doing the things you love, even the little things... If it is reading a book, doing your nails, cooking, a glass of wine... anything... Please don't let everyday life's hassles pull you away from them for too long. A long time away from them, will make you believe you don't need them, and that will start to make your life a little emptier. So don't let it happen!!!

Its good to be back!!

Until next time!

A short phrase with great impact...

Hello to all!!! I hope you had a great weekend!

I could not write the past Friday because I was at a company convention, and the schedule was pretty tight... in the convention, I heard the following phrase from a mentor of mine Randy Gage...

"I refuse to lose"

What a great phrase to have handy, whenever adversity steps in your way!!!

Losing is different from failing. Failing is part of winning, is part of learning is a component of progress... Now Losing is when we give up on ourselves.

While aiming for our dreams, there are many situations that will test our strength and determination, it is those situations that we bring out who we really are.

So the idea of this post, is that when your determination is under pressure, when it seems this is as far as you could go, when you are down, hungry and thirsty in the middle of the desert with the sun beating down on you, take a deep breath and say out loud....

I REFUSE TO LOSE!!

Pick yourself up, and continue you might be really close to the next oasis!

Have a wonderful week and keep on trying!!!

Until next time!

LOVE is what makes it all work

Hello to all! I hope you had a wonderful week!

I just finished reading the book "Think and Grow Rich", and in it, I found a very powerful message, well there are many, but today I am going to talk about LOVE..

The phrase that struck me was something like this: "Love is what brings balance to our actions"

And when you think about it, it is absolutely right!

Think about it! If you are going to teach a class, and you add on top of it, that you are doing it with love, you transcend the teacher status into a higher realm..

If you are going to cook a meal, and you do it with love, it brings enjoyment to you and the people who are actually eating it.

If you are doing your job, and then on top of that you love what you do, then you are certainly going to raise above the rest...

On the other hand, if you are really good at what you do, but you don't love what you do, or perhaps do it because you HAVE TO, then although the end result might be OK, it will not have the added mystic that comes from things made with LOVE.

The final part, is that we can choose! We can choose to see all the things we don't like about what we do, and fall for that trap... or try to find those that actually makes us feel good, and bring the LOVE out!

That's this weekend's challenge!

Just in case you were wondering! I LOVE this blog!

Have a great end of the weekend and a greater week!

Until next time!

Federico Ruiz

Do More!

Hello to all! I hope you had an awesome weekend, and I want to begin this week, by sharing with you my mantra, motto, or phrase (Whatever you want to call it) that has been with me this past month, and has work wonders for me...

Do More!

How about that?

Its short but it packs a lot of power and good things with it...

Our life has many different parts... Health, wealth, spirituality, work, home, sports, and I could go on and on, but the key here has been, that you can Do More! in all of those areas, little things, and as a whole they make a big difference...

For me it has been great, because I have seen the results... Which ones you might say?

Well, I was not particularly good at keeping my room in good order, well I Did More! and now my room is cleaner than ever, all I did was start hanging the clothes back on their hangers, and folding what needed to be folded... Guess what? I made my wife happier because there is no mess, I feel better looking at the room and knowing that is my creation, and the more I have done it, the easier it becomes... I guess the Lotus Code (Check the May 29th post) is also at play here...

I applied this Do More! I many other areas, like health, business, home, family...

My challenge for the week, is this: What are you going to Do More! On?

Don't delay, start today! Because the benefits are just waiting for you to act, so they can manifest!

Until next time!

The laws of physics apply to your dreams also!

Hello to all, I hope you are having a great week...

Recently I watched a training from Eric Worre, that inspired me to write about how I think the things he mentioned there apply to everything we do in our lives.

There is a well-known physics equation that states:

D = S * t (As in Distance equals, the Speed times the time)

If you think about the things you wish to accomplish in life, this law also applies.

The comparison would be:
Distance = Where to do want to go in your life, your dreams, what you wish to accomplish.

Speed = How much time are you investing today on a consistent basis to achieve them.

time = How long are you willing to try this for, in order for them to become a reality for you.

Once this is understood, I think we will get rid of one of humanity's major problems.... Lack of persistance!

If you know where you want to go, and you know how fast you are moving there, then you already know how long it will take you to get there, so you don't give up!

If you know where you want to go, and you know in how much time you expect to be there, then you will adjust your speed accordingly so you are not late!

Those three always go together, whether in a Physics 101 test or on the road to achievement, the key is knowing where you want to go first, and then is simpler to assess if you are being reasonable or not!

If you are aiming high, and are not willing to devote the time it requires, then those false expectations will lead to dissapointment.

To close, the usual questioning... Do you know where you want to go today?
When do you expect to get there? and Are you going fast enough?

For many, life seems to be always on the rush, we are like speeding on the highway, but if we don't know our destination, we might miss the exit!

Have a wonderful day!

Until next time!

If you hear the calling ACT!

Hello to all!! I have a quick question to you...

Have you ever been in a situation, that you just knew you needed to do something, and you didn't know why?

I am pretty sure you all have... think about those situations, for example when you gave alimony to a homeless person, or when you decide to help someone you don't know expecting nothing in return...

This topic was brought up by hearing a story of a family member who came across a person, who he just knew he had to do something about.

He helped the person, gave him clothing, a bath and a meal. The person he helped was absolutely grateful for his help and interestingly, the guy he helped said that this help he got today was perhaps the bump he needed to try to quit drugs and get his life back in shape.

How about that!!? Isn't that interesting? Well, think about the times when you have felt this urge to help, this need to act upon a hunch... you might be changing somebody's life forever.

Considering this story, the message I want to get across today, is that there is definitely a higher power that sometimes needs US, and we cannot neglect it.

Increase your awareness of these feelings and be ready just in case your number is called upon, and most importantly ACT.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Until next time!

Federico Ruiz
