Growing personally is good, but with a partner is even better!

Hello to all! I hope you had a wonderful week, just as I did.

I was telling my story yesterday about how my life has evolved through personal development, and as I was telling it, I realized how important it has been that my spouse and I are doing this together.

We both started down this path of self-development but from totally different sources, but the interesting part is that when we talk about it and share it, we seem to see things from a similar perspective, and that really adds to our relationship.

Seeing how this is adding, I thought about How would it be if only one of us, was on this path? The truth is, I don't know, but I imagine that the gap between us would be growing larger and larger, and who knows where that would have lead us.

But why think about that Right? If it isn't happening! is not useful to think about it!

I wanted to share this story with you, because I have found that the path is much more fun, nice and beautiful, when you have someone you care by your side. It is amazing to see your partner grow, and how that makes our life together so much better.

My advice to you today is: Are you walking it alone? Is your partner by your side, or is he/she going somewhere else?

Find someone you care, and invite them to join you in this wonderful journey to a greater you.

I want to thank my spouse for walking with me, but I also have to thank you for walking with me as well. It is really a pleasure!

See you at the next post (on the blog).

Have a wonderful weekend!

Most of what you need to succeed is already within you

Hello to all! I hope you had a wonderful weekend.

I have continued my journey in personal development, reading, watching and listening different sources of wisdom, and I found out that, most if not ALL of what you need to succeed in life, is already within you.

The way I saw personal development was about learning NEW things that would make me a better person, but it turns out that what all these books and audio programs have done for me, has been to take away the veils from my eyes.

When we where kids we believed everything was possible, but as we grow, we start to put limitations, or in this case we start to put blinds on our eyes, and we then have so many layers of blindfolding on our eyes, that we cannot longer see the light, the truth and our dreams.

What personal development have done for me, is that for every book I've read, I have taken a blindfold off. One at a time... I can see more clearly now.

But in reality, is not what the books have taught me (Well you always learn from a book, it is inevitable) but it has been more of a DISCOVERY.

I have been discovering my talents, my capabilities, my gifts, and once you are aware of them, you just need to claim them back as yours and take control of them.

Reflect upon this for a while and then ask yourself, Do you want to be hiding behind all the veils and blindfolds you have put upon yourself, or you are willing to take them off and wake up to your full potential?

Once you realize you are all covered up, it gets claustrophobic!!! and you really need to break away and be free again.

Don't look out for the answers, for they are within you, but to look inside you need to get rid of the blindfold.

Have a wonderful day!

Until next time!

What is easy to do, is also easy not to do.

Hello to all! I recently heard that phrase from Jim Rohn, and I thought it was very profound!!

Think about it... What is easy to do, is also easy NOT to do.

First let’s define EASY: Something that you already know how to do.
That is a very simple way to put it, if we already know how to do something we think is easy, and those things we don't know how to do, we think are difficult.

Well there are many things we already know how to do, and yet we don't do them!

You may ask, things like what?
Well... Do you know how to eat right?
Do you know to be responsible?
Do you know how to be a good friend?
Do you know how to be a good spouse?
Do you know how to be a good son/parent?

I guess we can say YES to all of them, and yet they are so easy to do, that we sometimes don't do them.

Do you want wealth, health, success, recognition? Its EASY! But very few of us do it, why? Because it is also easy not to do them.

Do yourself a favor, live everyday, DOING the easy things!

The problem comes when we think, they are so easy that we don't need to work on them, and there is where we slip.

We need to work harder on the easy things, than we do on anythings else in our lives.

Doing the easy things is what makes us better everyday, and that is what leads to the health, wealth, success and recognition.

Go out there and call you parents and tell them you love them, call a friend to say hello, excercise and eat right! They are all easy and you will be amazed at the impact they will have on your life!

Until next time!

Have wonderful day!

The secret to Success

Hello to all, I hope you had a wonderful week so far...

Today's topic is critical, I will reveal the secret to success in any endeavor you wish to follow.

Are you ready?... Ok, here it goes...

The recipe has 2 ingredients:
1. A big dream
2. The will to go get it

Well, there you go! We need to begin by remembering all the great dreams we had in the past and that we have slowly forgotten. First we need to remember, and if we didn't have one clearly defined, then we need to visualize how our dream life would be like if we didn't have any limitations. Then once we have it, we need to ask ourselves the very sincere question: Am I willing to go after it? and here is where the recipe is finally complete, and the impossible is made possible. If our will to succeed is much stronger than our fear of making mistakes, then we are on our way, but if we fear more our possibility of being mistaken, then the rational decision would be not to try.

You have the recipe, it is now up to you to decide whether you are going to cook it or not.

Have a wonderful day!

Until next time!

Being more successful than others, or through others success?

Hello to all, first I wanted to apologize for not posting on Friday, I was caught up in urgent things, but here is the good news, I will post three times this week!!

OK, getting to today's topic... What do you really want? You want to be more successful than others or you want to achieve success through others success?

If you thought the second one is the same as taking advantage of others, then you think I am a very horrible person!! :)

Here is what I want you to reflect about: We all want to be continually moving forward and achieving greater and greater success, but if you approach it as YOU being the successful one, then there is a certain degree of selfishness that is not really helpful to our personal growth and prosperity mentality.

Now if you think about being an enabler of others success, that people come to you for advice, or for a partner, and working together is what helps them achieve success, then this selfless approach is simply much more successful in the long run.

To put it more simply, think about if your friends and coleagues would write an autobiography, would you be in them?

Being part of someone's life is simply the greatest success we can achieve, but not as a hindrance but as the enabler.

The challenge is to be ready to help, always have a good piece of advice to give and don't expect anything in return... if we do this, many great things will continually come our way.

I hope that with some of my comments here I am enabling you to be a little more successful everyday!

Have a nice day!!

Until Tomorrow!!

Get away and discover all the great things of life

Hello to all, this past weekend I had the opportunity to go to a Beach place in my country (Venezuela) called Caruao. We went there to celebrate my moms 60th birthday, and had an awesome time.

The stay is designed to get you disconnected from the "everyday routine", there is nothing that you need to think about except for enjoying the view, beach, the rivers, etc.

Since you have a lot of time to think, I came up with the following learnings from the trip:
1. There are many great places and sites on this earth, for us to be spending most of our life inside four walls.
2. Isn't it funny that we need to spend a few days "away" in order to forget our "everyday routine"? Isn't that telling us that we don't relly like and enjoy what we do everyday?
3. Going to these awesome places costs money, but wouldn't it be great if we didn't have to think about that? Would you enjoy it more if they were free?
4. Wouldn't it be great to enjoy places like these more often?, How about whenever you want?
5. When its over we usually say something like "Back to reality", Wouldn't it be great if living like that was our reality?

And I could go on, but you get the message. What I am really glad and proud of myself is that I am currently working to make all those questions dissapear from my life, and make my reality my dream life.

My question to you today is this: What are you doing to make those questions and many others you certainly know, go away?

I am not going to say "LIfe's too Short", but I am going to say "Life's too great" so we should be spending more time enjoying all the great things it has to offer...

So my advice, is plan a getaway weekend and make sure you enjoy it, and remember how that feels, it could be a great motivator to move to make the necessary adjustments in your life.
Leave the phone, and stop trying to stop thinking about work. Sit back, relax, enjoy and remember.

Maybe someday we might bump into each other!

See you around!

Have a wonderful week.

Until next time!

¿Cuánto éxito estás atrayendo?, ¿Qué cosas atraes a tu vida día tras día?

Practice and Luck

Hello to all, I was recently reading about Wimbledon, and came across a quote from a golfer who I can't recall right now, but I wanted to make sure you knew it wasn't of my creation!

This golfer said: "The more I practice, the luckier I seem to get"...

As I finished reading I grinned. There is so much knowledge in that phrase, that I said to myself "I have to share this with my fellow readers!".

I call Luck when something unexpectedly went our way. You don't really expect it to happen, and boom! You got lucky!

Now, if we maintain that line of thinking, when we get really good at something, then it is possible that we take for granted how good we are, and somehow we surprise ourselves. And then we say "I got lucky".

I think two things are happening here:
One, you might be underestimating you abilities to make things happen or maybe they seem so effortless to you that you cannot believe you made them happen, and...
Two, your faith in yourself and in the outcome, makes the world conspire in your favor, and make things look like magic. This is what I call being congruent.

Being congruent means, that your abilities, skills and beliefs are all focused on a common purpose, thus achieving it, is a matter of "when" not "if".

If you want to become a better person, a better athlete, a better friend, a better spouse, or whatever you wish to become... practice. Become so good at it, that it will make you think you got lucky!

Success is not a destination, is something you attract.

How attractive are you?, What are you attracting right now?

Do some checking! I bet many things could be improved!

Have a nice weekend!

Until next time!

Federico Ruiz
