Continuing on this journey to freedom, today's topic its about timing. This is where all comes together and measurements can be made.
Previous topics were in a way philosophical and somewhat subjective, but this third part adds some real world spice to it.
Assuming you defined it, and realized you were either going towards it or straying away from it, one thing must be defined, WHEN. Although it looks like a simple word, defining when is really what determines all the actions that will be necessary to get there on-time.
To illustrate it with an example... If you wanted to go from New York (where you currently are) to Berlin (Freedom), there are many ways to get there and some are faster than others. You can Fly there non-stop, you can go by boat or you can swim (You will probably get there so tired that you won't enjoy it much, if you make it at all!) there, so defining "how long" is very important.
Now, the key of the when is that is has to be believable to you, and if it is, just imagine today what it will feel like to arrive (To freedom not Berlin!). I grin just by thinking about it! And being able to visualize how that feels its a very powerful motivator!
Along the way, there will probably many obstacles, circumstances may change and you definition may change a bit, but during those difficult times, close your eyes and "see it, feel it, hear it, smell it" and a solution will be found for all the current "problems".
If you are serious about it, find a person you trust and respect and share with him/her the estimated time of arrival, so you hold each other accountable for it.
Will you beat me there?... I don't care as long as you arrive!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Until Monday.

Freedom Series part 2 - Are you moving towards it?
On the previous freedom series post, we talked about defining freedom. I gave you a definition that I found interesting and also gave you my personal definition of it. I hope you took some time to think about what freedom means to you, and hopefully you got a better idea.
For those who didn't give it some thinking, then this post will not be as helpful, so please do it!!
Ok... today's topic is about whether or not we are actually making progress to obtain "that" we so dearly want.
In my case, when I realized what freedom meant to me, it was an eye-opener, because I was able to see where I wanted to go, and that immediately lead to checking out where I was... It certainly didn't look like freedom to me. And that is when "I made the decision" to go after it...
This is the most important part of today's post, to move towards freedom we need to "decide" and decision leads to "action".
My challenge to you today is this: How much do you really want it?, is it worth investing a few years of your life making important efforts to get it, or you will give up on it a few months from now?
Nobody can take you there, nobody can show the way, because the way really depends on what you defined it to be.
The journey will be nothing like you planned, it will be a LOT BETTER!
I close as I began... Are you moving towards it?
See you on Friday!
Have a nice day!

The freedom series - Defining Freedom
Freedom is such an important word in our vocabulary that we are constantly saying we want it.
But have you taken the time to think what freedom is? I am sure you go to the dictionary and will find something very convincing there, but What is freedom to you?
I can't recall who said this phrase but I proclaim it isn't mine!
"Freedom is the possibility of every human to define his/her own chains"
When I read it, I sure agreed! but if I agreed or not, is not the point of today's post.
What I intend to do is to get you to think and define what freedom means to you. What are the chains you would like to put on yourself? Who owns the chains that hold you today?
A big part of making this freedom definition work is that you need to give some detail to it. How does that look?
I am sure there are things today that you must do, but rather not do them. If those things disappeared, what would you do then?
I give you my definition of freedom: "Being able to use all my available resources to fulfill a need voluntarily"
It doesn't matter if it is Time, Money, Wisdom, Knowledge. If I have to use any of those, in an activity that I don't want to do, then my freedom has been reduced.
Of course we all have responsibilities and we certainly need to devote some of those resources to them, but if you do it voluntarily, then freedom is unharmed.
To finish, what is your Freedom index? Hope you start moving towards a 100%!
